I've just begun writing up entries on the thirty three servicemen belonging to the extended Crane family. This going to take awhile, to put it mildly. I've also been adding more people to the database - it's startling how many new names turn up. Then there are always newly released sources of information to investigate to discover possible new details for existing entries. So please don't think I've got bored with the project because the website isn't updated very often - it's just very time consuming work.
Serendipity is a wonderful thing. We visited Highgate Cemetery in July and by sheer chance came across the gravestone of Alfred Aldwinckle on our way out. He was father to a couple of the Aldwinckles with entries on the website, and I'd no idea that's where he was buried.

2017 update
It's been a while since I wrote a blog, but that's not to say I've not been doing research. Since all the Aldwinckle information was uploaded, I've been adding many more names to my soldiers database. Mostly they are descendants of Cottingham families already identified, and are thus scattered across the UK and in several cases a long way outside it, mainly in Australia and Canada. It takes a lot of time to write up each entry for the website, so if you recognise a name on the list with no link yet to further information, please feel free to contact me. I will probably be able to tell you more.
